Play Away Policies

Guarantee
At Play Away satisfaction is guaranteed. If you are not completely satisfied with Play Away, we will refund any unused portion of your child's tuition. Sorry, registration fees are non-refundable. Refunds will be calculated based on total classes taken at the closest Play Away rate to the number of classes taken.

Non-Enrolled Siblings
We cannot accommodate non-enrolled siblings in any class with the exception of infants who remain in a car seat or in wearable carriers. If you have an older sibling home from school on break or otherwise, we ask that you please try to schedule a make-up class. It has been our experience that older siblings just can not help but want to play on the equipment and it is to inviting for them to ignore. (Sorry) Children over the age of 10 can attend as a mothers helper as long as they do not use the equipment.

Clothes
Parents and kids should wear comfortable play clothes. Parents must wear socks - no shoes, if you have forgotten them we can provide a pair at a cost of $3 per pair. Children should be bare foot or wearing socks. Dresses should not be worn; they may interfere with class activities.

Healthy Kids
Please bring only healthy children. Your child should remain at home if he or she has had a fever, vomited, or had diarrhea within the past 24 hours or if he is exhibiting contagious cold symptoms (usually during the first few days of a cold.). If you see another child with a runny nose or cough, do not automatically assume the child is contagious. Allergy symptoms can resemble cold symptoms. We at Play Away reserve the right to refuse admittance to the class if we feel that the child is too ill to participate. We will gladly offer a make-up class!

Who can bring my child to the class?

If for some reason you cannot bring your child to his/her scheduled class, any adult relative or caregiver may take your place. Please make them aware of all Play Away policies and let them know what to expect ahead of time.

Class Behavior
Class time should be enjoyable for all. If your child is disrupting the group, or is in any way harming other children, we kindly ask that the parent or caregiver remove the child from the group until said behavior has stopped. If the child is unable to attend the remainder of the class, a make-up class will gladly be given. Play Away reserves the right not to allow a child or parent to return to class if their behavior is deemed unacceptable, Play Away will refund any unused portion of class fees if a child or parents behavior is deemed as such.

Make-ups and Refunds
We welcome you to make-up any missed class within your paid session period. We must be contacted in advance to schedule a spot for your child in the make-up class.
Your makeup classes may carry over into the next session, only if you are signed up for the session that immediately follows. Missed classes can not be added to the end of a session.

Food
No food or drinks are allowed past the tiled areas.
No exceptions. This includes any and all spill proof bottles and cups.

Play Away policies for cancellation or switching of a class already paid for:
Play Away reserves the right to cancel a class that does not meet minimum enrollment requirements (3 or more students), or to switch that class to another day and/or time period. Students having paid for a cancelled class will receive a full refund. If a class is rescheduled to another day and/or time, students will have the option to enroll in that class.

Safety - Attendance and playing at a Play Away facility is at your own risk and you assume that risk for your child...
Play Away offers a safe and fun place for children and their parents to interact, however play and the use of the Play Away facilities are at your own risk. Should you join play away we have some very basic rules that need to be followed. First, never leave your child un-attended. Second be aware of your surroundings especially when swings or other hanging apparatus are in use. Pay close attention to those around you, both children and parents while apparatus’ is in use. Since class sizes vary you might be asked to help dismount the apparatus you were using, or take hold of the apparatus until it is dismounted by Play Away staff. And lastly, follow the direction of your Play Away instructor whose only goal is your child’s, and your safety and satisfaction.

What If My Child does not want to participate?
Here at Play Away we let the child be the guide. At this early age, not participating in an activity is entirely appropriate!! Our group activities are encouraged but we never want to force a child to participate.

Children learn in different ways, some will participate, some will learn by watching and others by listening. We often hear from parents that a child who seemed not to be participating will repeat the songs and activities later at home.

Play Away equipment is very inviting, and some children will be far more interested in the equipment than in the group activities. We can still sing the songs with our child even though he or she may be climbing or playing in another part of the room. Eventually most children will join the group, but it may take weeks or even months. We at Play Away feel the child should be able to join the activities at his or her own pace.
